Don’t let the “fairy wand” or “sissy stick” sneers fool you; spinning tackle has not only a place but a definite purpose in the serious angler’s arsenal. Sure, there are times when tempting lethargic fish yields a lackluster fight, but ask those who’ve locked horns with bruiser smallies during the peak of their feeding if it’s anything but a slugfest. Such battles call for a sturdy reel that won’t back down from the kickers or any bass species. It looks like Lew’s created a tool fit for the task.

Key to the development of the HyperMag Speed Spin is one of the newest members of the Lew’s Pro Team, Mark Zona. “I fish a lot of places that torture my spinning reels. The new HyperMag has stood up in a BIG way,” the Michigan native said. “The HyperMag Speed Spin drag system has been rock solid, and frankly the feature that is hardest to accomplish in a spinning reel, is an exceptional drag system. Team Lew’s nailed it with the HyperMag.” The smooth sealed carbon multi-disc drag system delivers consistently strong and smooth fish fighting.

The HyperMag Speed Spin is available in two models. With both the 200 Series (HMS200) and the 300 Series (HMS300) on the deck of the boat, anglers will be prepared for all applications.

HyperMag fans have come to expect only the best in reel performance: dependability. strength. The finest components are engineered at the lightest weight. The Lews HyperMag Spinning Reel delivers.
